Description: Reacting against the enclosed, dark, and gloomy existing kitchen, the design strategy looked at establishing a more dynamic relationship with the surrounding rooms. Windows were replaced and a new opening was cut between the kitchen and the living room, creating a sense of openness and allowing for natural light infiltration. The quartz countertop, white cabinets with black pulls, and linear light fixture introduce a modern feel that contrasts with the highly decorative floor pattern, reminiscent of traditional Puerto Rican tile design.
